It’s Just A Flesh Wound

“OUCH! You little stinker!!!” I blurted out as my new puppy is deliberately trying to draw blood out of me. It’s all a part of the process. The cute part of having a new family member is watching the kids bond. If I had my way, I would of gotten a puppy years ago, as now my boy is almost 16. He’s enjoying it but with hormones occupying his brain, sticking around home to play with the puppy is the furthest thing on his mind. Yet as we were leash and collar shopping, he wanted her to have a spiky collar with flames on it fir when he takes her for walks. We will see about that.

Once we picked up Kelsey yesterday, I asked her foster Mom (a big THANK YOU  to Kristy and her family for caring & loving our puppy) if Kelsey had any ‘quirks’. Why yes she does. At 8 weeks old, she does not like car rides or baths. Well that something we will have to get her use to. I plan taking her every where possible. She’ll be my copilot. But never ever leave her in a hot car. I’m the kind of person that would smash a car window open if I saw that! And about the baths, ya, that’s going to happen n a regular basis as I discovered another of Kelsey’s habits – she’s a digger!

So here we are. Numerous scars, nics, and red scratches on my feet , hands and arms. Yet, the pain doesn’t come close to the joy that my new baby has already brought into our home!

About jnflamand

I love to write, in fact, my mind is a like a running tap most days! It's unfortunate that with having a crazy, busy life most original ideas are lost in the shuffle. However there are the few that get through, and as twisted as they are, they get my creative juices flowing. "What If....." has to be my favorite definitive statement, as it all starts from there. I like it as a starting point as I try to bend the concept and make my ideas believable. I write to make others 'Think'! www.jnflamand.com

I will be living vicariously as you post all your puppy joys and woes…hide your shoes. Maybe you can turn that digging into a new veggie garden.
